Surrogate Race poster by Fred Struckholz.
Rare, limited edition handprinted commemorative poster by incredibly talented artist Fred Struckholz of Rhode Island.
The Story:
Shortly after 1:00 pm near the town of Cobb, California multiple reports surfaced of a small brush fire near the intersection of High Valley and Bottlerock Roads. But it quickly spread and within days it had consumed 200 square miles. It burned out one of our race venues: Boggs Demonstration State Forest, and left a long-standing annual event in need of a surrogate location. It was the birth of the Wente 8 Hour Mountain Bike race, and during the first year of that host location, our poster commemorated Boggs.
Each and every event we produce is inspired by pop culture or current events, and artists such as Fred bring those ideas to life. He then takes it from drawing to screen to paper, all by himself.
Custom mixed paints are laid onto premium poster stock by hand from start to finish by the very designer himself. Each poster is individually numbered and signed.
